We all search for a place to call home that’s restful, affirming and supportive. God revealed its importance, five times, to Moses. He was to sacrifice “at the place the Lord will choose as a dwelling for His Name” (Deut. 16:2,5,7,11,15).

David made searching for God’s dwelling place such a high priority that he couldn’t sleep until he found it. This became his resting place where he worshiped and found righteousness, joy, abundant provision, salvation, and protection (Psalm 132:3-5,9,15-18).

David’s son, Solomon, built the physical dwelling place or temple God chose. God’s plan for David was to build a house or descendants to sit on his throne eternally, which Jesus fulfilled (Psalm 132:11-12)

How can we apply this truth? In context, the “next” Psalm 133 says to live in unity with brothers to experience blessing and life forever.

What brother(s) or sister(s) can you pray with and live together to multiply descendants or Christ followers?
