Think of the most horrific situation you could possibly go through. Maybe you have already experienced a divorce, losing a loved one, being firing from a job, going bankrupt, cancer, best friend turning on you, etc. I remember being unemployed for seven months. God continued to encourage me through His promises and often through other people. Psalm 40 proves that God will never forget you. He always comes to your aid so you can experience Him.

Prerequisite: Wait Patiently for God’s Deliverance
Waiting patiently for God’s deliverance is prerequisite after you call upon Him in the midst of a terrible or destructive situation.  As He lifts and establishes you, God causes you to praise Him so that others can trust Him too (Ps. 40:1-3).

Attitude: Trust God Instead of People
Trust in the Lord instead of pride, falsehood, deception or idolatry that people worship (Ps. 40:4)

Action: Speak of God’s Miracles and Attributes
Don’t keep miracles to yourself, but share them with others. Speak what God accomplishes in response to your prayers. Share promises from Scripture that reflect purpose and hope in the midst of severe trials. Proclaim God’s attributes like righteousness, faithfulness, lovingkindness and truth (Ps. 40:5-10).

Benefits: Experience God’s Attributes and Help
Proclaiming God’s miracles, promises and attributes enable you to experience His compassion, lovingkindness and truth. You are also delivered from evil, iniquity and enemies. As a result, magnify the Lord through your life because He never forgets and will always help you! (Ps. 40:11-17).

For each tough circumstance, pray to God and wait patiently for His deliverance. Share with others the miracles He accomplishes so you can experience God’s attributes and help.
