People keep searching for the key to happiness. People fill their lives with so many things: working on a computer,  talking on their cell phones, listening to the radio, watching the television, combing our hair, etc. The more multi-tasking one can do the better, we often reason. God has another plan. He wants us to be living in the present moment through our relationship with God. Psalm 91 shows how you can trust God’s power for security and protection so you can enjoy life.

Trust
I trust the Supreme and Almighty God as “my refuge and my fortress.” God delivers you from snares and destruction. Under His wings and faithfulness, you seek refuge (Ps. 91:1-4). Trust God’s faithfulness and power to deliver you from destruction.

Security
You don’t have to be afraid of terror, arrows, pestilence or destruction by day or night. No harm will come near you. Since God pays back the wicked, security comes when you make God your refuge and dwelling place. No evil or plague will come against you (Ps. 91:5-10). Make God your security in an ever-changing and evil world.

Protection
God’s angels guard you in all your ways, both defensively and offensively. They lift you up so you don’t experience major harm and allow you to defeat evil powers (Ps. 91:11-13). God sends angels to protect and defeat evil powers against you.

Satisfaction
Because you love Him, God delivers and sets you securely on high because of your intimate relationship with Him. He answers your prayers and is present in trouble. He rescues and honors you. Satisfaction in a long life comes as you feast  your eyes on His deliverance, which leads to good health and prosperity (Ps. 91:14-16). God rescues and satisfies you with everything to enjoy.

Answer the following questions:
1. What are you fearful or anxious about?
2. What do you see that could hurt you?
3. Where do you need help in a relationship or activity?
Live in the present by taking each of these concerns to God on a moment-by-moment basis so His angels can minister to you continuously.
