When you are faint because of enemies, call upon a rock higher than you. It's a place of refuge, tower of strength and tent. You dwell forever in the shelter of His wings (Ps. 61:1-4).
Those who fear His name have an eternal inheritance, which includes longer life on earth and sitting on God's throne in heaven. Praise God forever because His lovingkindness and truth protect you (Ps. 61:5-8).
If God is your refuge and eternal inheritance, wait in silence upon Him only. You don't have to be shaken because He is your deliverer, rock and stronghold (Ps. 62:1-2).
In contrast, the world is like a leaning wall where murder, falsehood and cursing occur. It seeks to cast you down from your high position in Christ (Ps. 62:3-4).
Remember your place of stability where you won't be shaken in the midst of the battle. Your soul must wait in silence for God only since He is salvation, glory and rock of strength. How does one practically make God His refuge? By trusting in Him at all times and pouring out your heart before Him (Ps. 62:5-8).
By waiting upon God only, you place men in their proper perspective whether they have positions or not. God is truth, but trusting in man is vain and a lie. Place your faith in God's power and lovingkindness instead of money or man's manipulations, because ultimate reward comes from Him (Ps. 62:9-12).
On a continuum from 1 to 10, where would you rank your day-to-day thoughts ("1" is trusting in what men think of you and "10" what God thinks of you?).
