God lifts up the depressed when they cry to Him for help (Ps. 30:1-3). You can praise and thank God because His favor and kindness last for a lifetime. Weeping may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning (Ps. 30:4-5). For emotional health, letting out our emotions instead of stuffing them is critical.
Life doesn't always go well (Ps. 30:6-7a). Not only when you feel depressed, but you can call upon God in frightening and terrifying situations (Ps. 30:7b-10). Because He is gracious, He comes to our aid in every circumstance of life. He turns our mourning into dancing so we can praise and thank Him forever (Ps. 30:11-12). Because God accepts us, we can express both positive and negative emotions on the pathway to healing our soul.
Remember there's a season for everything. A time to weep, time to laugh, time to mourn and a time to dance (Eccl. 3:4).
Might this suggest that God uses depression as a vehicle for you to draw closer to Him?
Are you "down" because of depression or fear? Call upon God right now so He can lift you up!
