Because Jesus is heir of all things, Creator, radiance of God's glory, sustainer, purifier of sin, sits on God's righteous throne and defeated Satan's power of death, all of creation can be subject to you (Heb. 1-3).

You make creation subject to you by responding in faith to the gospel message, allowing God's word judge your thoughts, praying with confidence to received mercy and grace, offering prayers with tears to learn obedience,
studying God's word to learn good from evil, being diligent to help His people and waiting patiently to receive His promise.

Respond in Faith to Gospel Message
Be careful not to fall short of the promise in entering God's rest. The gospel message was of no value to Israel because they did not respond in faith. They did not enter into rest (Psalm 95:5,11). God finished His work since creating the world and resting on the seventh day. Disobedience to the gospel prevented Israel from entering His rest. David said to not harden one's heart when hearing His voice. A person who entered God's Sabbath rested from his work (Heb. 4:1-11). Respond in faith to the gospel message so you enter God's rest.

Allow God's Word Judge Your Thoughts
The word of God was living, active and sharper than any double-edged sword. It penetrated to the dividing of soul and spirit to judge the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Everything was uncovered and laid bare before God's eyes (Heb. 4:12-13). Allow the living and active word of God judge your thoughts.

Pray in Confidence to Receive Grace
Hold firmly to faith because of Jesus, the Son of God. As the high priest, He sympathized with weaknesses since He was tempted in every way like humankind, except without sin. Approach the throne of grace with confidence to receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need (Heb. 4:14-16). Pray with confidence to receive grace in time of need since He was tempted like you without sin.

Offer Prayers with Tears to Learn Obedience
High priests offered sacrifices for sins and dealt gently with the ignorant and those who went astray. Jesus was a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek. On earth, Jesus offered up prayers with tears to God who could save Him from death and was heard because of His reverent submission. Jesus learned obedience from what He suffered and once made perfect, He became the source of eternal salvation to all who obeyed Him (Heb. 5:1-10). Offer prayers with tears to learn obedience from suffering and receive eternal salvation.

Study God's Word to Learn Good from Evil
They needed someone to teach them milk or the elementary truths of God's word, not solid food, because they were slow to learn. Those who lived on milk as an infant were not acquainted with righteousness. Solid food was for the mature who trained themselves constantly to distinguish good from evil. They were to leave the elementary teachings about Christ and pursue maturity, not laying the foundation of repentance from acts that led to death, faith in God, instruction about baptisms, laying on of hands, resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment (Heb. 5:11-6:3). Study God's word to learn good from evil.

Be Diligent to Help God's People
It was impossible for those who once been enlightened and tasted the heavenly gift, Holy Spirit, goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance because they subject Him to public disgrace. Land that produced thorns and thistles was worthless, in danger of being cursed and burned. The author was confident of things that accompanied salvation. God was not unjust and did not forget their work and love shown Him as they continued to help His people. The author wanted them to always be diligent, make their hope sure and imitate those who through faith and patience inherited what had been promised (Heb. 6:4-12). Be diligent to help God's people in demonstrating faith.

Wait Patiently to Receive God's Promise
After God promised Abraham descendants and blessings, he waited patiently to receive it. God confirmed His promise with an oath to make it unchangeable. This hope was the anchor of their souls, firm and secure. Jesus went behind the curtain and entered the inner sanctuary to go before them. He became the high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek (Heb. 6:13-20). Wait patiently to receive God's promise as the firm anchor of your soul.

Which of the following will you apply to make creation subject to you:
1. Respond in faith to the gospel message
2. Allow God's word judge your thoughts
3. Pray with confidence to received mercy and grace
4. Offer prayers with tears to learn obedience
5. Study God's word to learn good from evil

6. Be diligent to help His people
7. Wait patiently to receive His promise

Know Jesus' Death Causes Creation to be Subject to You (Insights in NT)

"We must know the power of the Blood if we are to know the power of God. Our knowing experimentally the power of the Word, the power of the Holy Spirit, and the power of prayer is dependant upon our knowing the power of the Blood of Christ" (R. A. Torrey)

What enables Jesus' death on the cross to cause all of creation to be subject to you? Jesus is heir of all things, Creator, radiance of God's glory, sustainer, purifier of sin, sits on God's righteous throne, signs and miracles, defeated Satan's power of death, apostle, high priest and builder of God's house.

Look to the Son as Heir of All Things
God spoke to forefathers through the prophets but in the last days He spoke by His Son. God appointed Him heir of all things and through the Son made the universe. The Son was the radiance of God's glory, exact representation of His being and sustained all things by His powerful word. After providing purification of sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven (Heb. 1:1-3). Look to the Son as heir of all things, Creator, radiance of God's glory, sustainer and purifier of sin.

Consider Jesus Who Sits on God's Righteous Throne
Superior to angels, God said Jesus was His Son and God His Father. When God brought His first-born into the world, He said angels should worship the Son and made them His servants flames of fire. Concerning the Son, God's throne lasted forever and righteousness as the scepter of His kingdom. He loved righteousness and hated wickedness and anointed the Son with the oil of joy. God laid the foundations of the earth and the heavens was His work. He remained the same forever but creation perished and wore out like a robe. God said the Son sat at His right hand until He made His enemies a footstool for His feet. Angels were ministering spirits sent to serve those who inherited salvation (Heb. 1:4-14). Consider Jesus who sits on God's righteous throne to defeat His enemies using angels to serve believers.

Do Not Drift Away From the Great Salvation
Paying attention to what they heard prevented drifting away from the binding message spoken by angels. If disobedience received punishment, no one escaped by ignoring a great salvation announced by the Lord and confirmed by those who heard Him. God testified to it by signs, wonders, various miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His will (Heb. 2:1-4). Do not drift away from the great salvation announced by Jesus and confirmed by signs, miracles and gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Know Jesus' Death Causes Creation to Be Subject to You
The Psalmist testified that God remembered and cared for man by making him a little lower than the angels. He crowned man with glory and honor so everything was subject to him. Because this had not occurred yet, God allowed Jesus to suffer and taste death for everyone. In bringing many sons to glory, God the Creator made the author of salvation perfect through suffering. Both men made holy and Jesus were of the same family. Jesus unashamedly called them brothers and children of God by singing and praising His name to them (Heb. 2:5-13). Know that Jesus' death causes all creation to be subject to you.

Trust Jesus' Death for Freedom From Fear and Satan's Power
Jesus shared in humanity by His death that destroyed Satan who held the power of death and freed those enslaved to the fear of death. Because Jesus helped Abraham's descendants, He was made like His brothers in every way as a merciful and faithful high priest to make atonement for sin. Jesus suffered during temptation so He was able to help those who were tempted (Heb. 2:14-18). Trust Jesus' death on the cross for freedom from fear and Satan's power.

Think About Jesus as Your Apostle and High Priest
Those who shared in the heavenly calling fixed their thoughts on Jesus, the apostle and high priest. As the builder of God's house, He was worthy of greater honor than Moses. God was the builder of everything, but Moses was faithful as a servant in His house. Christ was faithful as a son over God's house consisting of believers who boasted in courage and hope (Heb. 3:1-6). Think about Jesus as your apostle and high priest as you boast in courage and hope.

Believe Confidently in a Living God
The Holy Spirit told those who heard His voice not to harden their hearts like Israel's 40  years of testing in the desert. Their hearts went astray so they did not enter God's rest. Instead of a sinful, unbelieving heart that turned away from the living God, encourage one another daily so no one would be hardened by sin's deceitfulness. Those who stayed confident and did not harden their heart shared in Christ. Moses led Israel out of Egypt and their sin and disobedience because of unbelief prevented them from entering into God's rest (Heb. 3:7-19). Believe confidently in a living God to enter God's rest.

Which of the following items encourage you the most that cause creation to be subject to you through Jesus' death on the cross:
1. Jesus is heir of all things
2. Jesus as Creator
3. Jesus as radiance of God's glory
4. Jesus as sustainer
5. Jesus as purifier of sin
6. Jesus sits on God's righteous throne
7. Jesus showing signs and miracles
8. Jesus defeated Satan's power of death
9. Jesus as apostle
10. Jesus as high priest
11. Jesus as builder of God's house

Why God Should Carry Most Weight In Your Life (insights in Psalms)

For the first 18 years of my life, I rarely thought about God. I tried to get through life the best way I knew how. Most people go through life not thinking about God. They don't attach any significance or weight to Him. Perhaps you have struggled for reasons why God should be the single most important factor in your life, even more desirable than money.

The Psalmist breaks down his argument in two basic categories why God should carry weight in your life. First, the glory of God's creation. Second, the glory of God's word in our lives.
The heavens tell the glory of God (Ps. 19:1). His creation is like a letter written to us so we can learn about His magnificence, wealth and abundance beyond anything we can describe. The size of the universe is unbelievable. More than 170 billion galaxies make up God's creation. Consider these facts:

1. The distance from the earth to the sun = 1 astronomical
     unit (AU)

2. Distance from earth to nearest star = 265,000 AU
3. Distance from earth to center of Milky Way galaxy =
     1,580,000,000 AU

4. Distance from earth to next big galaxy (Andromeda) =
1000 times farther away than center of Milky Way

5. Distance to farther galaxy = 5400 times farther away than
     Andromeda

If the universe is so big, don't you think the Creator of it should carry some weight in our lives?

If God's creation is so magnificent, His word must be glorious also because when He spoke, everything was made (Ps. 19:1-6; Gen. 1:1-27). It's perfect and complete. God's word is the divine standard or owner's manual showing how to get the most out of life. No other book or resource can compare with the Bible in its reliability to share practical wisdom for daily living (Ps. 19:7).
His word must be glorious too because when He spoke, everything was made (Ps. 19:1-6; Gen. 1:1-27).
His word must be glorious too because when He spoke, everything was made (Ps. 19:1-6; Gen. 1:1-27)

Not only does God's word impact our mind, but our emotions. Because God's word is righteous, we can rejoice with a pure heart knowing our path leads to pleasing outcomes (Ps. 19:8). According to the Oxford English Dictionary, our happiness is based on luck or good fortune, but joy is described as a vivid emotion of pleasure not dependent on our circumstances. We can enjoy life no matter what happens.

Peoples' opinions about us vary. Some like us and others don't. But a morally pure life  based on the true word of God endures forever (Ps. 19:9). If we base our life on God's word, we live a stable life, not at the mercy of mood swings. We can live with full confidence and assurance instead of doubts whether we measure up.

Nothing on earth is more desirable or reaps greater reward than obeying God's word (Ps. 19:10-11). It is better than gold and sweeter than honey.

One of the best blessings we can ever possess is accountability. People can assist, but the best source of accountability is God's word. It protects us from both hidden sins and pride so they don't rule our lives (Ps. 19:12-13). When we break God's law, God will pardon us from sin's curse. When we confess or agree that our sin violates God's holiness, He will see us as blameless and perfect. I can't think of anything more precious than hearing God say to me, "Well done, , good and faithful slave. . . enter into the joy of your master" (Matt. 25:23). Here's the reward in making Christ number one in our life!

Which of these reasons carry the most weight why God should be preeminent in your life? Confess any known sin and pray Ps. 19:14 so God will delight and be pleased with you.
